Vietnam beaches
Vietnam is blessed with a long and glorious coastline, so it is no surprise that its beaches are a significant draw for travellers. From the central coast to the southern tip, you’ll easily find a sunny strip of sand to kick back, relax and soak up the tropical sun. Whether you’re after a total island hideaway or a quick taste of the tropical good life, there will be something for you.
Vietnam’s beaches are not only beautiful (and much quieter than neighbouring Thailand), but many have unique historical and cultural highlights nearby. After a day of sight-seeing at a UNESCO world heritage site, you can sit back and enjoy a cocktail whilst sunning yourself on one of the most picturesque coastlines in the world.
Our guide below will help you discover the very best that Vietnam has to offer!
Central Coast
Hoi An
Famous for its wonderful tailors, colourful lanterns and being a UNESCO World Heritage Site, Hoi An has long been a popular city destination, with the added bonus of having beaches close by. Here, you can have the best of both worlds by spending the day swimming and reading under the shade of a palm tree, before heading into the lantern filled streets for some tasty street food at night.
Nha Trang
Nha Trang is a buzzing city with a party atmosphere, but if you head a few miles along the coast, you’ll find long stretches of sandy beaches, emerald seas and our special stay resort, overlooking the ocean. In this spot, you’ll find some of the most secluded, pretty beaches in Vietnam.
Palm Island
A little pocket of paradise with only a scattering of simple but beautiful bungalows, Palm Island is the ultimate beach escape. Take barefoot wanders and feast on fresh fish at sunset. The turquoise waters surrounding the island are abundant in exotic sea life and coral, making it perfect snorkelling and diving territory.
South Vietnam
Phu Quoc
Phu Quoc is Vietnam’s emerald island, thick with jungle and fringed with tropical beaches. The pace is slow, the sand is soft and the sunshine is warm. Its coastline makes it a picture postcard tropical island, complete with swaying palm trees, bays of white sand, and warm seas that are crystal clear and ideal for snorkelling.
Ho Tram
With a curving coastline and hidden coves, this little stretch of sand is a favourite place for locals and expats living the hectic Ho Chi Minh life to come and escape. It is blissfully undeveloped, so this is the place for pure relaxation. Visit some nearby hot springs, sink into a lounger and let the sunshine do the rest. It’s a perfect spot for a little respite from fast-paced Vietnamese city life.
Mui Ne
Renowned for its epic sand dunes, kite-surfing and long stretches of sandy beaches, it’s easy to see why Mui Ne is such a popular destination for sun-lovers. Just a few hours from Ho Chi Minh City, it’s a lovely place to escape the frenzy of city life for a few nights of barefooted bliss – with superb restaurants, water sports and nightlife on offer.
TOP-TIP:
If you’re looking for a beach stay with lots going on, choice of restaurants, local amenities and plenty of activities to choose from – then Hoi An, Mui Ne and Phu Quoc are perfect! If you’d prefer somewhere a little more secluded and back to nature, then we highly recommend our accommodation in Nha Trang, Ho Tram or Palm Island.
