Journey Through Vietnam & Cambodia | Sandro & Richard

Blog
Sandro and Richard have recently returned from their adventures across Vietnam and Cambodia where they drifted between the limestone peaks of Bai Tu Long Bay, paddled through rice paddies and explored magnificent Angkor Wat. We’re thrilled that they have shared the photos from their big trip with us…

Hanoi to Bai Tu Long Bay

“Our trip started in Hanoi, a bustling and exciting city, a fusion of East and West. Whilst the city is expanding many traditions are maintained and there are many places of interest to see. From Hanoi we visited Bai Tu Long Bay, where we saw extraordinary vistas of the limestone formations, floating villages and pearl farm. The meals on the junk were superb! In Nimh Bin we visited ancient temples and cycled through paddy fields with mountains providing a dramatic backdrop.

Hoi An

From here we travelled to Hoi An, a colourful ancient market town, before flying off to Siem Reap, in Cambodia, and the majestic temples of Angkor Wat.

The magnitude of these ancient buildings with their remarkable engravings is a must see for any traveller. It was a blistering 40 degrees when we visited so prepare; and/or, visit early morning and see the temples emerge as the sun rises.

Lovely Locals

Of all the highlights this holiday gifted us, it was the people who left the strongest mark; they are welcoming, hardworking, charming, and funny despite their poverty and despite their war-torn history. They are truly wonderful people and we’d love to return to see them again one day.”

Thanks so much for sharing your travels with us, Sandro and Richard, we’re glad you had such a wonderful time!
