Day 1 – Hanoi to Bai Tu Long Bay

It’s an early morning departure from your hotel in Hanoi as you are collected and driven to Halong (4 hours) in time for your cruise to depart. You’ll wave goodbye to the masses as you board your traditional junk boat and set sail for Bai Tu Long Bay – with its rich biodiversity and deserted beaches waiting for you to arrive. Your boat will have a maximum of 10 private cabins, with interconnecting/family options available.

After your safety briefing and a delicious lunch on board, you’ll drop anchor and take a small boat out to explore the majestic landscape for yourselves. You’ll climb paths to vantage points with staggering views, relax on a white sandy beach, swim in the emerald waters, and kayak around floating fishing villages in one unforgettable afternoon. You’ll return in time to catch the sunset before being treated to a feast cooked freshly on board. As dusk falls, you may like to try your hand at squid fishing – or simply relax and rest, ready for tomorrow.

Day 2 – Bai Tu Long Bay to Hanoi

The next morning, you’ll be invited to awaken early for a spot of Tai Chi on the outdoor deck, as you watch the sunrise across the bay. For those who prefer a lie-in, the first activity of the day will follow breakfast as you explore the dramatic Thien Canh Son cave, littered with stalactites and stalagmites. You’ll return to the main boat and as you begin your return to the harbour, you’ll be treated to a hands-on cookery demo on board where you can test your cooking skills out!

After a tasty lunch you’ll disembark and likely return to Hanoi or travel on to Ninh Binh. As with all of our trips, we will arrange all of your connecting transfers and drivers in advance.

If you fancy spending longer exploring Bai Tu Long Bay, you can also book an extended two night cruise – please speak to your travel specialist about this.
