If your idea of tropical paradise is palm-fringed sandy shores, calm waters perfect for snorkelling and beach barbecues at sunset then look no further than the coastal town of Hoi An. Most famously known for its lanterns, tailors, and ancient streets, you'll fall in love with the relaxed vibes and the endless activities that make Hoi An the perfect family beach destination.
Family snorkelling Vietnam

Day 1 – Arrival at Hoi An beach

Arriving in Hoi An, you’ll be taken to your boutique resort, located on the beach and just ten minutes from the ancient centre. You’ll be surrounded by tropical gardens and swaying palm trees, with a huge outdoor pool that stretches out to the beach. The resort is as family-friendly as you could possibly wish for, with special activities for kids and an indulgent spa for the adults. Interconnecting rooms are available.

Day 2 – Cham Island snorkelling tour

Today you will be collected from your hotel and whisked away to the Cham Islands by boat, which should take around 1 hour. After a leisurely journey with scenic views of the vast coastline, you’ll be kitted out with your mask and snorkel, ready to explore the underwater world. You will visit two different snorkelling spots, and while the snorkelling may not be the best in the world, you will still be treated to an impressive number of exotic fish and vibrant coral beneath the surface. After working up an appetite, it’s time to indulge in a delicious BBQ lunch featuring fresh catch from one of the islands. Unwind and embrace the laid-back island atmosphere before setting sail back to Hoi An later that afternoon.

Please note: the snorkelling tour is only available between April and August as conditions outside these months are unpredictable, and underwater visibility is poor. If you are travelling outside the snorkelling season or prefer to stay dry, we can arrange a countryside cycling tour instead. Just let your travel specialist know.

Day 3 – Explore Hoi An

After a lazy morning in the sun with the occasional swim and a spot of breakfast, why not take kayaks out on the calm waters and explore the coastline? If you prefer to keep dry, sun loungers and parasols line the private beach and there are plenty of sand-based activities for the whole family to enjoy.

If you fancy stretching your legs, the old town is just a ten-minute drive away, with a complimentary shuttle available. We recommend taking a leisurely cycle though, as you ride along quiet country roads past farmers and buffalo at work in their fields until you reach the lantern-filled streets. You’ll find them lined with tailors, cafes, independent shops and galleries all housed in centuries-old heritage townhouses and all easily explored on foot.

Day 4 – Departure from Hoi An

After a relaxing few days in tropical paradise, today would see you move on to your next destination. All of your transfers and domestic travel are arranged in advance and timed to ensure you needn’t be rushing anywhere if you can avoid it.

If you fancy an extended beach stay (who can blame you?) then your stay is fully flexible and additional days are easily arranged.
