Pai Thailand Trekking

Day 1 – Arrival into Pai

Today, you’ll wake up in Chiang Mai and take a songtaew or taxi to the bus station. Don’t expect a large tour bus, as they don’t navigate the winding mountain hairpin turns easily; instead, you’ll board a minibus for this leg of the journey. In about three hours, you’ll reach Pai, with the first hour being relatively relaxed before the mountainous terrain becomes more apparent. The route winds through landscapes of lush cliffs and deep valleys until you reach your destination.

You’ll have the entire afternoon to explore Pai. Chill by the pool or go for a stroll through the rice paddies to Pai Canyon, a stunning spot for a sunset view. In the evening, dive right in the thick of it –  Pai’s night market is a feast for the eyes (and stomachs).

Day 2 – Hike

The next morning you will set out early to explore the valleys and hills surrounding Pai. You’ll be transferred by car to the starting point of your hike and off you go. Your guide will take you through meandering trails over the ridges and hills covered in lush greenery, past rice paddies and through some colourful villages. The two of them – Lisu and Lahu – you’ll get to visit and meet the local people who will welcome you with open heart and show you around. At the end of your hike you’ll reach a thundering three-tiered waterfall, a great spot for a refreshing dip before you hop back in a car and go back to your hotel. The rest of the day is free for you to relax and do as much or as little as you like. The following morning you’ll head back to the bus station and return to Chiang Mai

Day 3 – Departure

After breakfast, it’s time to check out from our charming Thai-style hotel on the outskirts of Pai. If you have an early bus ticket back to Chiang Mai, head straight to the bus station. For those with a later bus, take the opportunity to explore Pai’s market – not the typical tourist hub, but a genuine glimpse into the daily lives of the locals.
