Day 1 – Arrival in Nong Khiaw

The rural town of Nong Khiaw is easily reached from Luang Prabang and Luang Namtha, making it the perfect place to stop for a few days and break up the journey. In Nong Khiaw, you’ll stay in a cosy riverside eco-lodge, sleeping in a spacious bungalow built using natural materials, with a balcony overlooking the river. After nightfall, you can sit outside under the stars, soak up the serenity and sip a Beer Lao.

Day 2 – River cruise & hike – Muang Ngoi

Today you will head out with a local guide to explore the beauty and culture of the surrounding area. First up is a boat cruise along the Nam Ou river, passing dramatic limestone cliffs and visiting ethnic villages along the way. Back to the boat for a spot of lunch before heading on foot through paddy fields, exploring caves as you go. Your trip will finish with a cruise back to Nong Khaiw as the sun sets behind the hills.
