Day 1 – Hiking and overnight hill tribes stay

Today, you’ll be collected from your hotel in Luang Prabang by pick-up truck for a bumpy but beautiful drive into the green mountains. Here, you’ll begin a full day trek, so prepare for some serious walking. You’ll cross jade rice paddies, gaze up at forested limestone mountains and pass isolated villages. Your local guide will tell you all about the lush flora and fauna along the way. You’ll sleep in a traditional cabin in a Khmu village, where you’ll enjoy a tasty dinner with the villagers.

Day 2 – Adventures and rice paddies

At sunrise on day two of this trip to Laos you’ll be woken by a dawn chorus of crowing roosters roaming around the village. After breakfast you’ll follow a path alongside the river to another Khmu settlement, where you can take a rest and explore the village. Then, you’ll continue trekking through the paddy fields and tropical forests to the rushing Nam Khan River, where you’ll take a boat ride, visiting nearby waterfalls if you are travelling from Aug-Jan. At the end of the afternoon, a transfer will take you back to your hotel in Luang Prabang and this trip comes to an end.
