Day 1 – From city to beach: Koh Samet

Sun, sea, and sand are just a quick trip away from the busy streets of Bangkok! Today, you’re off to Koh Samet. Catch a ferry at Ban Phe pier and enjoy a scenic 45-minute ride to the island. Once you arrive, hop on a ‘songthaew’—that’s just a fancy name for an open pickup truck that serves as the island’s public transport—to get to your resort.

Since Koh Samet is a national park, there’s a small entrance fee of about £5 per person when you arrive. You’ll be staying in a stylish bungalow at a resort located on a beautiful, long stretch of white sand on the quieter north coast, which is a nice break from the hustle and bustle. You can jump straight into the pool or relax with your toes in the soft, white sand. In the evening, take a stroll to your resort’s restaurant or grab some fresh fish right on the beach nearby.

Day 2 & 3 – Relax on peaceful beaches

You’ve got these days totally free to do whatever you like. Want to relax? Spend the whole day lounging on the beach at your resort. For just a small fee, you can rent a snorkel and explore the underwater world right off the shore. Or treat yourself to a relaxing massage and drift away to the sound of the waves. If you’re in the mood to explore, you can wander along little paths from your resort to find hidden beaches. In the evening, you may wish to head to the lively Hat Sai Kaew beach for a spectacular fire show, whilst you enjoy a Thai meal with your feet in the sand.

Day 4 – Departure from Koh Samet

After breakfast and a final dip in the sea, you’ll take the ferry from Koh Samet to Ban Phe pier. Here you’ll continue your journey by bus or private transfer back to the bright city lights of Bangkok.

The best time to visit Koh Samet is between November and August.
