Bangkok’s busy markets were full of interesting sights and delicious smells. Although the busy streets can be quite chaotic, riding around in a tuk-tuk was always fun. I got to see old temples in Ayutthaya, which was like stepping back in time. The beaches in Ko Lanta and Ko Tao were paradise, with clear blue water and soft sand. The people were really always friendly, and I loved learning about Thailand’s rich history and culture.

Thailand is a wonderful place full of smiles, vibrant colours, and tasty food. From the bustling markets of Bangkok to the peaceful temples in Chiang Mai, every corner has something special to offer. The golden beaches and crystal-clear waters are like a dream. Thai people are incredibly friendly, and the mix of ancient traditions with a modern vibe gives the country a unique charm.

I had such an amazing time when I visited Thailand, I loved the diversity on offer and was able to take in the buzz of modern Asian life, as well as explore its historical roots and relax on its golden beaches. I was also incredibly fortunate to spend a week volunteering at the Elephant Nature Park. It was one of those moments that will stay with me forever. No matter where you go though, the scenery is always breath-taking. For me, this is what makes this country so wonderful.

My journey through Laos was nothing short of magical. From the serene beauty of Luang Prabang, where the Mekong River embraced the city in tranquillity, to the bustling markets of Vientiane, every moment felt like a discovery. The lush green landscapes and mist-covered mountains provided a backdrop of breath-taking scenery. Venturing into the countryside, I encountered the warm smiles of the Laotian people and discovered their rich cultural heritage.

Sleepy Laos is quintessential Asia, far less developed than its neighbours and therefore retaining an authenticity that is hard to be replicated anywhere else across Indochina. If your idea of a dream holiday is escaping the crowds and immersing yourself in local life, whilst taking in breath-taking natural beauty, then Laos is for you!
