Dreamy beaches of Koh Phi Phi
Bite-sized tripDay 1 – Arrival at Koh Phi Phi
Today you will be collected from your accommodation in Phuket and transferred to the pier to catch your ferry to the picturesque island of Koh Phi Phi. The journey takes around 90 minutes, during which you’ll be treated to breathtaking scenes of turquoise waters that sparkle in the sunlight and, as you approach Ko Phi Phi you’ll spot towering limestone cliffs emerging from the sea. As this island has no paved roads, the boat will take you right to your accommodation where you will stay in a Thai-style bungalow with a veranda overlooking the clear waters of the Andaman Sea. In the evening you can take a boat to Ton Sai or grab a bite to eat at one of the restaurants on the beach.
Day 2 – Sunrise boat tour
You will have an early start the following day, as you’ll be heading out on a sunrise boat trip to explore Phi Phi Leh, where you’ll find Maya Beach and Phi Phi Lagoon. Leaving early in the morning means you’ll arrive before most other tourists, and you’ll get to enjoy the natural beauty of this area at its best. The journey takes around 15 minutes and as you approach the island, look out for swallows darting in and out of their nests in the cliffs – a sight this area is famous for. Next, you’ll be taken into the serene inlet of Phi Phi Lagoon, where you’ll be surrounded by towering limestone cliffs and calm emerald-green waters, perfect for a morning swim, before continuing onto the iconic Maya Beach. This bay was made famous when it was featured in the film ‘The Beach’ and has since surged in popularity, however, the authorities have implemented seasonal closures and strict visitor limits to preserve the ecosystem. Enjoy strolling on the powdery white sands, perfect for building sandcastles and enjoying time together as a family. You’ll head back to your accommodation in time for breakfast, with the rest of the day free for you to spend as you wish.
Explore Ko Phi Phi
There are plenty of exciting family activities to keep you busy on Ko Phi Phi including snorkelling, kayaking, boat tours, scenic hikes, Thai cooking classes and exploring local markets. Many snorkelling spots surrounding Ko Phi Phi are in shallow, calm waters, perfect for families to explore safely.
