Jungle Adventures in Khao Sok

Day 1 – Arrive at anurak lodge – Khao Sok national park
Most families travel to Surat Thani by sleeper train and arrive at the train station in the morning. You’ll be collected by your guide and driver along with a small group of other travellers to our Anurak Community Lodge in Khao Sok National Park, a stunning location hidden amongst the limestone cliffs. The lodge has comfortable bungalows set in lush gardens and overlooks the stunning national park.
Once you’ve checked in and dropped your bags off at the lodge you will head to the river where your canoe and guide will be waiting for you. You’ll be in a double canoe with your guide who will lead you through the twists and turns of the calm river. Take in the views of the idyllic limestone cliffs towering above. Your local guide will tell you all about the flora and fauna in this dense undergrowth and you can take splash in the water at the end to cool off, before you head back to the lodge for a traditional Thai dinner. Afterwards sit back and soak up the serenity of the lush jungle, listening to the monkeys playing in the trees above.
Day 2 – Lake Racha Praba
After an early breakfast this morning, you’ll be collected along with a small group of other travellers and head to Lake Racha Praba. You’ll take a traditional longtail boat over the still waters, surrounded by spectacular rock formations jutting vertically from the lake, before arriving at beautifully located floating bungalows on the water, where you are free to do as you please. Take one of the kayaks and explore your surroundings or simply jump off the decking and splash around in the crystal-clear water. Afterwards, you’ll enjoy a delicious Thai lunch before your guide takes you for a walk and boat ride through the dense jungle, past bamboo groves and beneath giant trees back to your jungle lodge.
Day 3 – Departure from Khao Sok national park
Today is the end of your Khao Sok adventures and you’ll pack up your things ready to move on to your next destination. Many families tend to head south to the beaches to experience white sands and turquoise seas.
It’s worth bearing in mind that the daily programme of this trip may vary slightly depending on the weather conditions at the time of travel. Weather in the jungle can be hard to predict!
