Days 1-3 – Tuk tuks and longtails in Bangkok

After your international flight you’ll arrive in the bustling capital of Bangkok. A welcoming driver will meet you and your family at the airport and transfer you to a riverside hotel with a rooftop pool. The following day you’ll go on a tuk tuk trip through Bangkok’s bustling streets and journey down the canals by longtail boat. A great way to see a different side to this vibrant city!

Days 3-5 – Rafthouses, waterfalls and the railway

You’ll then travel by minibus to the River Kwai area where you’ll learn about the haunting history, take a train ride across the infamous Burma ‘Death Railway’, dive into the sparkling waters of the Erawan Waterfalls and sleep on a floating raft house hotel, surrounded by the noises of the jungle! If you’re lucky, you may even wake to see elephants bathing in the river in the morning. On night two, you’ll stay in a Thai style family friendly hotel, set in beautiful gardens in the town of Kanchanaburi.

Days 6-9 – Giant Buddha’s and parasol painting

Next you’ll be transferred back to Bangkok for you to take a sleeper train with your clan to Chiang Mai. We will book you in shared carriage where the seats are turned into comfy beds with a curtain for privacy. The journey takes around 11 hours and food is served on the train but you can also grab some snacks at the railway station before your journey. If you would prefer to travel in a private two-berth couchette just let your Travel Specialist know.

When you arrive into Chiang Mai after your night on a sleeper train, you and your family will be transferred to your hotel in the centre of the city. The night market, packed with souvenirs and aromatic street food stalls, is a great place to explore with the kids and try some truly different delicacies. The following morning you’ll take a trip to climb the sacred Doi Suthep Temple and learn how to make traditional parasols.

The next day you will get up close to the gentle giants at the Elephant Nature Park. As well as getting to know about these elephants, you will have the chance to feed these majestic animals to aid in their rehabilitation before returning to Chiang Mai in the early evening. A real highlight for any wildlife love at any age!

Days 9-13 – Carefree Ko Samui

Next you’re heading south for some beach time. You’ll take a domestic flight from Chiang Mai to Ko Samui where your driver will pick you up and drop you off at your beachside resort.

You’ll spend your final few days in Thailand on Ko Samui; the perfect island escape for families looking for a bit of everything. It’s a huge island with beautiful, safe beaches and seas perfect for swimming, sandcastle building and snorkelling. During your time here we’ll arrange for you to take a kayaking trip through the underwater paradise of Angthong National Marine park. In the evenings you can dine at one of the many restaurants on the beach, or do some souvenir shopping at the night markets.

As your family adventure in Thailand comes to an end you will make your way to the small airport for your flight back to Bangkok where you will spend one last night before catching your international flight home the following day.
