Kite surfing on a beach in Sri Lanka

Day 1 – Arrival in Kalpitiya & lagoon boat trip

Today you’ll travel to Kalpitiya, located on Dutch Bay. Once checked into your beach hotel, you’ll head out on an afternoon boat trip to Kalpitiya Lagoon. The second largest lagoon in Sri Lanka, it’s truly picturesque and covered in lush greenery and mangrove forests. If you’re into bird-watching keep your eyes peeled as there are a few unique species to be spotted here. Afterwards, you’ll be transferred back to your hotel ready for a relaxing afternoon and evening by the beach.

Day 2 – Kalpitiya – dolphin spotting

If it’s dolphin season (Nov-Apr) then this morning you’ll have an early start as you head out dolphin-watching. Kalpitiya is the best place to see dolphins in Sri Lanka and you’re extremely likely to spot them here, and you may even spot a whale if you’re really lucky! Afterwards, you can spend the day relaxing by the beach with a good book and recharging your batteries, or perhaps even visit one of the kite-surfing schools if you’re feeling active.

Day 3 – Departure from Kalpitiya

Depending on what time you need to leave today, you might choose to spend this morning relaxing in a hammock or taking a splash in the sea. When it’s time to head off, you’ll pack up and hop into the car with your driver who will take you to your next destination. Or, if you’d like to extend your time here just let us know.
