Bite-sized trip
Day 1 – Arrival in Mirissa
As you approach the small town of Mirissa you’ll pass coconut palms, ocean views and fishermen on stilts. Soon enough you’ll arrive at your accommodation; we’ve found a cosy guesthouse tucked away down a quiet side street, just a five minute walk from the beach. Once you’ve freshened up you can take a walk along Mirissa’s crowning glory. Although the sea can be wavy at times, on calm days it’s a stunner.
Day 2 – Half day whale watching
Early this morning, you’ll be collected from your hotel and taken to Mirissa port where you’ll embark on a half-day whale watching trip with a small group of other international travellers. You’ll have a good chance of spotting whales from the ship, or maybe even dolphins; they like to frolic in the ships swell. Once you’re back on dry land you’ll be dropped off back at your cosy B&B.
Day 3 – Departure from Mirissa
Today it’s time to move on. After a hearty breakfast you’ll pack up your things and get ready to journey onwards to your next destination. If you’ve got a little time to spare you could have one last stroll along the beach, a final swing in a hammock or a concluding sip of a tropical fruit shake at a beach front café.
