Here you have the chance to explore the hill-country at your own pace; take a walk around the countryside, meet the local families or visit some famous sites.

Day 1 – Arrive in Ella

Ella is a little village paradise in the hills of Sri Lanka. To get here, you’ll drive through the beautiful hilly countryside and pass under the famous railway bridge before finally reaching your destination – a beautiful laid-back town surrounded by hill tops and drowning in greenery.

On arrival to Ella, you’ll check into your hotel, located high in the hills, offering a stunning view for you all to look out on. The hotel also has a swimming pool, so after your day of exploring you can relax in the pool looking out at the direct views of Ella Gap whilst the kids take a splash.

Day 2 – Exploring the countryside

This morning you’ll grab some breakfast at the hotel, you’ll find western and traditional Sri Lankan breakfast options here, so the kids will be sure to find something they like. It’s totally up to you where you’d like to go today. We recommend venturing out on foot to explore; the area is full of bright green tea plantations, remote villages and hidden waterfalls. We’ll also arrange for you to take a packed lunch, so you can enjoy a picnic with a view.

If your family is up for an adventure, you can take the small hike to Little Adam’s Peak. The walk can be quite hot and there are many steps, but it’s easy to do with children. You’ll determine your own pace but the walk will take around 2 hours with impressive views of tea fields and valleys on both sides.

We can also arrange an exhilarating ziplining experience. You’ll start at mini Adam’s Peak and fly over iconic tea estates and lush greenery overlooking the famous Ella Gap. The two-wire zip-line stretches for more than half a kilometre, slides at 80kmph, and offers a bird’s-eye view of the beautiful hills of the island. If this sounds like fun, ask your Travel Specialist to include this in your travel plan.

Day 3 – Departure

The next day you’ll breathe in the fresh countryside one last time, before saying goodbye and moving on to your next destination.
