Day 1 – Arrival in Polonnaruwa

Today your driver will whisk you to your next destination – the ancient city of Polonnaruwa, dating back almost 1,000 years. Your charming hotel is located in the neighbouring Girithale right by the lakeside. Surrounded by gardens and with a huge pool to plunge into, it’s a perfect base for the whole family. If you feel like heading into town for a walk or to have dinner at one of the amazing local restaurants, your driver can take you there in no time!

Day 2 – Cycling in Polonnaruwa and free time

This morning, after breakfast, your driver will be ready to take you into town. You will stop just outside the temples to collect your bikes and start pedalling through the maze of ancient ruins and historical relics. Make sure the bikes are comfortable before you set off! There is no rush, so take your time and take in the incredible sense of centuries passing by as you journey through the ancient sites. Your driver will meet you at the end of the trail, all you need to do is follow the signs. The rest of your day is free for you to do as you please – wander around the city, sample some local food or laze by the pool at your hotel.

Day 3 – Departure from Polonnaruwa

Today it’s time to leave Polonnaruwa and head to your next destination. Take a quick dip in the pool for the road then hop in the car – adventures are waiting!
