Safari near Port Elizabeth
Bite-sized tripDay 1 – From Port Elizabeth to the private reserve
On arrival in Port Elizabeth, you will head to the small coastal town of Kenton-on-Sea, where you will board a boat and travel through the lush landscape to reach the private reserve. Your accommodation is a luxurious tented camp on the riverbank, connected by wooden walkways. You won’t need to compromise on comfort though, as the tents are all fully equipped with real beds and en-suite bathrooms. You’ll be welcomed with a delicious lunch on arrival, with full board to keep you fed throughout your stay here.
Day 2 – Safari at the Eastern Cape
After a good night sleep, you’ll be ready for the main event. This morning you will set off before breakfast for your first game drive in the reserve. Your guide, an expert in the local wildlife, will take you on an adventure in search of the big five, at their most active time of day. You will also get to join further safaris in the afternoon and in between these you can do some independent exploration, kayaking or fishing. Your evenings can be spent under the stars, gathering around a fire to share in the excitement of the day together.
Day 3 – A final game drive
This morning, after your final morning game drive, you will be taken back to Kenton-on Sea by boat. If you are flying home from Port Elizabeth, these final days of safari will likely be the highlight of your time in South Africa. If you can’t get enough of the abundant wildlife, we can arrange further safari experiences such as Addo Elephant Park, a wonderful starting point for a tour along the Garden Route towards Cape Town.
