Visa & passports
If you are a British Passport holder, you do not need a visa to visit South Africa for stays of up to 90 days. But you need to ensure that your passport is valid for at least 6 months on your date of entry to South Africa.
Local currency
During your South Africa tour, you will pay with the South African rand (ZAR). One rand is approximately £ 0.043 You can exchange pounds in many places, but using your debit card is cheaper. You can use your debit card at airports and in cities. Mastercard and Visa are accepted in many places.
Tipping
In South Africa, tipping is customary whenever you use a service such as guides, drivers, and in restaurants. It’s your way of showing that you are satisfied with the service provided. We recommend tipping 10% as standard in restaurants and recommend 150 – 250 ZAR per guide per day.
