Head to Alentejo and learn why its olive groves, vineyards and cypress trees often mean it is compared to Tuscany. On this trip you’ll head into the cornfields for a rustic picnic of cheese and olives. Your base will be an old family-run farmhouse with a swimming pool, where you’ll be sleeping for the next two nights. The owners are very welcoming and happy to tell you all about how they restored this magnificent property to its former glory.
Portugal Évora Alentejo

Day 1 – Arrival Évora

Arrive at your farmhouse that’s just a 15-minute drive from the medieval village of Évora, a town known for its beautiful church towers, antique temple columns, cobbled streets and baroque churches. There’s plenty of delicious local food on the central square and you can purchase local ingredients from the friendly shop owners to cook in your apartment that has a kitchenette, eating on your private terrace overlooking the landscape. 

Day 2 – Picnic in the cornfields

Today you’ll have a day of leisure with a myriad of possibilities awaiting you. You may opt for a visit to a working cork factory, immersing yourself in the fascinating world of cork production. Alternatively, indulge in the freedom of two wheels by renting bicycles at your accommodation, embarking on a scenic journey through the picturesque vineyards that grace this region. We’ll arrange for you to venture into the heart of a cornfield, where a rustic picnic awaits. Savor the flavors of locally-sourced cheese and olives, delighting in the authentic taste of the land. And don’t forget to indulge your senses with delightful treats from the local bakeries, a culinary experience that will surely leave an impression. For those seeking a more invigorating pursuit, allow us to organize a thrilling mountain biking trip. Prepare to navigate your way through a local cork estate, weaving effortlessly across the captivating terrain.

Day 3 – Departure from Alentejo, Portugal

Today you can you leave this relaxing place behind and continue on your way, heading to the Algarve, where high cliffs and golden coves await you. If you think you’ll want more time in the region then continue further into Alentejo for an unforgettable kayak stargazing experience.
