Through the medieval streets of Óbidos
Bite-sized tripDay 1 – Arrival in Óbidos
The walled medieval town of Óbidos is easily reached from the coastal town of Nazaré (30 minutes drive) and only a 1.5-hour drive from the capital city of Lisbon. From the moment you enter the city walls you will feel as if you have stepped back in time, with its narrow cobblestone streets. Óbidos is usually visited as a day trip, but it’s worth staying overnight so you can experience the town when the day trippers have left. You will stay in a recently renovated mid-range hotel in the heart of the town.
Day 2 – City stroll & Ginjinha tasting
Day 3 – Depart Óbidos
It’s now time to leave Óbidos. You may wish to stop by the Lagoa de Óbidos – a hang out for kite surfers, or the charming nearby town of Foz do Arelho before continuing your journey.
