Enchanting Blue Humantay
Bite-sized tripDay 1 – Humantay Lake
Start your day early at around 4 am. You will be picked up from your hotel and drive to the town of Mollepata where you will have breakfast. Then you drive to Soraypampa where you start the walk. The lake is located at an altitude of 4250 meters. Wear several layers of clothing because the climb will quickly warm you up but the wind between the mountains can be very cold. After about 2 hours of steep climbing you can see the lake. Recover from the climb and enjoy the view of the turquoise lake of melted glacier water. When everyone is ready, you walk back to Soraypampa and return by bus to your hotel. It is a beautiful but also really tough day trip and we only recommend this day excursion if you are sufficiently acclimatized.
Day 2 – Cusco
Wake up and enjoy your breakfast in Cusco before checking out and embarking on your onward travel plans. From Cusco you can also visit Machu Picchu and there are various treks to this world wonder. If you don’t feel like trekking why not travel to Machu Picchu by train. For this, take a look at our Machu Picchu page.
