Waves and Rays in Máncora
Bite-sized tripDay 1 Arrival in Máncora
After a busy time exploring Peru’s history, culture and wildlife, you’ll be glad to breathe in the warm sea air on the country’s northern coastline. Most people opt to fly into Tumbes, around 1.5 hours north of Máncora, and from here we’ll arrange an airport transfer to the town. After you arrive, you’ll make your way to your locally run hotel just a stone’s throw from the beach. Grab yourself a drink, sit back and put your feet up – the next few days should be totally stress-free.
Day 2-3 Free time
This trip is all about relaxation, so we haven’t planned anything for your time here. There are a few lively bars and some nice restaurants in town, as well as the chance to try surfing or other watersports along the beach. If you’re feeling restless then there are also some nice walks you can do, including strolling up to the lighthouse which overlooks the town. However, if you decide to spend your entire time on a sun-lounger at your hotel, then we won’t judge.
Day 4 Departure
Sadly, it’s time to pack up and leave Máncora behind. If you choose this trip at the end of your Peruvian adventure, then you’ll usually need to travel home via Lima. We’ll arrange a transfer to take you to nearby Tumbes Airport, from where there are regular flights to the capital.
