Day 1 – Arrival in Kasane

You will drive along a dusty road until you reach Kasane, a small town on the edge of Chobe National Park and the meeting point between Botswana, Namibia, Zambia and Zimbabwe. For the next two nights, you will be staying in a thatched roof safari lodge, right on the Chobe River. We won’t make any plans for the rest of today, as it’s a long drive to get here, so you’ll have plenty of time to relax and enjoy a drink by the river. You might even see elephants bathing.

Day 2 – Safari in Chobe National Park

Today is all about wildlife spotting. As one of Africa’s most prominent wildlife destinations, Chobe has an incredible amount of animals, including one of the largest populations of elephants in Africa (more than 50,000).

In the morning you’ll head into the park on a 4×4 safari with an experienced guide who knows the area well. As this park puts nature first, you won’t find any asphalt roads, fences and very few checkpoints. Chobe promotes low-impact, high-value tourism, ensuring conservation and maintaining the natural environment are always priorities. Keep your eyes peeled for any movement in the bushes, sometimes that large grey rock turns out to be an elephant.

In the afternoon, you’ll board a small boat on the Chobe River, in search of more animals. You won’t have to look far, because elephant families gather here to drink and bathe, whilst hippos grunt in the mud and crocodiles lie in wait for a snack. After around two hours of sailing and wildlife spotting, you will be dropped off at your lodge for another night.

Day 3 – Departure from Kasane

Today you will be leaving Kasane and continuing your Botswana journey. You could easily cross over the border to experience the majestic Victoria Falls or stay in the country and travel south to the Botswana salt pans.
