Getting around Morocco
General Information

We can arrange self-drive holidays to Morocco but you may prefer to book a private car and driver. There are also journeys you can do by bus or train. Car Hire
A self-drive holiday in Morocco may not be the first thing that springs to mind! However, renting a car is an excellent way of exploring Morocco, giving you complete freedom and the chance to travel at your own pace. The roads (particularly the highways) are good and the signage is clear. We will also provide you with full information and detailed directions, and our local partners are on hand 24/7 should you need assistance.
Bus
If you don’t feel like covering the distances by rental car, a scheduled bus is a good alternative. You can travel by bus from Casablanca to Rabat, Meknes, Fes and Marrakech. Reliable bus services also operate between Marrakech and the beach towns of Agadir and Essaouira. We can arrange the bus tickets for you in advance on Supratours and CTM. These are the most reliable bus companies with good quality buses. We do not recommend using local government buses. The driving style of the drivers leaves much to be desired, the buses are of poor quality and they almost never run on time.
Train
Morocco has a limited but well-constructed railway network. Travelling by train from Casablanca to Marrakech is an ideal way of getting between these two cities. The train also operates between the royal cities of Rabat, Meknes and Fes. We can arrange the train tickets for you in advance so that your seat is reserved.
Private car & driver
Our airport transfers are carried out by private transfers as standard, and there are some bite-sized trips where having a private car and driver is more logical logistically. If you would like to travel by private transport throughout Morocco, please let us know and we can give you a price indication. Travelling by private car is not always the cheapest option, but if you are travelling with four or more people, for example, the price is more attractive.

We always encourage people to travel by local transport, where possible, for a more authentic experience. It also gives you the chance to interact with the local people and explore at your own pace. Of course by far the most sustainable way to travel in each place is on foot as you’ll see so much more and can soak up the atmosphere along the way.
