Colours and Culture of Mexico City
Bite-sized tripDay 1 – Arrival in Mexico City!
If you’re starting your Mexican adventure in the nation’s capital then we’ll arrange for a driver to meet you at the airport, from where it’s about a 45 minute drive to your hotel in the historic centre of the city. Most flights arrive later in the day, but after a quick shower you can head out for a stroll, see the lights of the Catedral Metropolitana, and visit one of the nearby restaurants for a cold cerveza and your first taste of real Mexican food.
Day 2 – Explore the metropolis
Despite past troubles, Mexico City is developing a reputation as a great destination in its own right. The city has a fascinating history, a vibrant youthful culture and an excellent culinary scene. The downtown area especially is also safe to stroll around, and there’s plenty to see on your doorstep.
It’s well worth visiting the world-famous Anthropological Museum, the Castillo de Chapultepec and Frida Kahlo’s old house, but what you do with your time is up to you. The Bosque de Chapultepec park is nice to relax in, or you can hop on the metro to explore some of the other districts – Zona Rosa is the place to go for shopping and nightlife, if you’re that way inclined!
Day 3 – Departure from Mexico City (maybe…)
There’s so much to do in this city that you might want to stay a little longer, so we can always book more nights here. If you have more time we can also arrange a trip to see the temples at Teotihuacan. Otherwise, it’s time to move on to the next stop on your journey through Mexico.
