Pulau Rawa Malaysia

Unwind on Sandy Shores

Bite-sized trip
  • Itinerary:
Pulau Besar, Pulau Rawa or Pulau Sibu
  • Duration:
    4 days / 3 nights (flexible)
  • Price:
From £ 385.- per person (excluding flights)
  • Travel Period:
    From February to October.
If you’re looking for a Robinson Crusoe experience then look no further. White sands, turquoise waters and a laid-back island lifestyle await on the islands of Pulau Besar, Pulau Sibu and Pulau Rawa. The best time to visit these islands is between February and October. This will make for a sunny, monsoon-free stay. Many of the islands close down completely during the rains, so an off-season adventure isn’t recommended.

Located off the East coast of mainland Malaysia, these undeveloped tropical islands offer complete relaxation. Spend your days swimming in the warm waters, snorkelling the coral reef that’s just metres from the shore, exploring the island’s green interior, or simply relaxing. Choose your preferred option or island hop between them.

Pulau Sibu is 20-minutes by speedboat from Tanjong Leman. Pulau Besar is a 20-minute boat ride from the small harbour town of Mersing. Pulau Rawa is a 25-minute boat ride from Mersing.

Days 1-4 – Beach time!

Your trip starts with a short boat trip from the mainland to your chosen island where you will be greeted with swaying palms and white sand. Your time on the island is free to do as you wish. There are some great snorkelling opportunities and jungle trekking if you’re feeling active. Or simply kick off your flip-flops and doze in a hammock.

On day four you’ll take a boat back to the mainland to continue your Malaysia journey or head to the airport for your homebound flight. We’ve priced up these island packages for three nights but you can stay as long as you wish. Ask our Malaysia specialists for a price.

For this bite-sized trip we offer the following options

1Option

R&R on Pulau Rawa

  • Price:
From £ 550.- per person (excluding flights)
  • Included:
Return boat transfers from Mersing, 3 nights accommodation on full board basis

There’s only one resort on Pulau Rawa and your boat from Mersing docks at the resort’s jetty. The hotel is located directly on the beach and consists of comfortable chalets that have been designed to blend in with the natural landscape.

Spend your days swimming in the warm waters, snorkelling the coral reef that’s just metres from the shore, exploring the island’s green interior, or simply relaxing. All of your meals are included in the package.

2Option

Chill out on Pulau Besar

  • Price:
From £ 385.- per person (excluding flights)
  • Included:
Return boat transfers from Mersing, 3 nights accommodation on full board basis

You’ll be staying in a small beachfront resort on the island that consists of wooden chalets scattered throughout the gardens amidst the palm trees. The bungalows are simply furnished but comfortable and feature air-conditioning.

Spend your days relaxing on the beach or in the gardens, take a kayak out on the sea or explore the forested interior on a jungle trek. All your meals are included during your stay so all you need to worry about is relaxing.

3Option

Kick back on Pulau Sibu

  • Price:
From £ 414.- per person (excluding flights)
  • Included:
Return boat transfers from Tanjong Leman, 3 nights accommodation on full board basis

You’ll be staying in a small eco-friendly resort located directly on the beach. The wooden chalets are simple, but spacious and comfortable, cooled with ceiling fans rather than air-conditioning. There’s no hot water in the rooms but you’ll find the water isn’t too cold and makes for a refreshing shower.

Your stay can be as relaxing or active as you wish. The clear waters and coral reef offer some great snorkelling and diving opportunities. Kayaks and paddle boards are also available. Or take a trek through the jungle, keeping your eyes peeled for monkeys. All of your meals are included in the package.
