Tioman Turtle Island
Bite-sized tripLike the rest of the east coast, most resorts on Pulau Tioman are closed from mid-October to February due to the monsoon season. The sea turtles start coming ashore around May.
Day 1 – Mersing to Tioman Island
Arriving on Tioman by ferry from Mersing, you’ll step straight into a tropical daydream. From the jetty, you’ll be taken to a beachfront resort tucked away between the palm trees. The traditional style rooms are simply furnished but very comfortable and feature air-conditioning. There’s a beautiful beach on the doorstep, just beyond the swimming pool, so you’ll be spoilt for choice. If you’re feeling active, trek into the wild heart of the island, thick with jungle and scattered with waterfalls.
Days 2-3 – R&R
The next couple of days are free for you to do as much or as little as you wish. Tioman is a great place for taking time out, so melt into a lounger and soak up the sunshine. In the evenings, sip an ice-cold beer at sunset, grab a candlelit dinner on the sand or find a fresh fish barbecue.
Day 4 – Departure from Tioman Island
Early this morning it’s time to take the boat back to Mersing to continue your Malaysia adventure. If this is your last stop before you fly home you may want to spend a night at Kuala Lumpur airport as the journey back from will take a few hours.
