Canopy Walk and Jungle Boat

Bite-sized trip
  • Itinerary:
Kuala Lumpur - Taman Negara National Park
  • Duration:
    4 days / 3 nights (flexible)
  • Price:
From £ 439.- per person (excluding flights)
This jungle adventure is one of our most popular Malaysia trips, and for good reason. It’s a journey into the heart of Taman Negara National Park, the world's oldest tropical rainforest. You’ll drift along twisting rivers lined with tropical jungle and take a night walk to spot wildlife and nocturnal insects in the darkness. You’ll stay in a wooden bungalow at the edge of the National Park, taking guided walks or visiting indigenous tribes in the area.

Days 1-2 – Kuala Lumpur – Taman Negara – planned activities

From Kuala Lumpur’s Chinatown, you’ll hop on a bus and head to the border of Taman Negara National Park. Here you’ll take a small wooden boat along the jungle-flanked Sungai Tembeling River to your comfortable resort in the rainforest – the Mutiara Taman Negara – which will be your home for the next two nights. There will be time to settle in before setting off into the jungle as the sun begins to set on a night walk. You’ll be surrounded by the sounds of the rainforest as you search for wildlife and insects hiding in the darkness.

Day 3-4 – Taman Negara – Canopy Walk – departure

After breakfast the next day, an experienced guide will take you on a hike to Teresek Hill, a mountain top in the middle of the jungle. You’ll walk up to get a beautiful view of the Taman Negara National Park and Gunung Tahan, the highest mountain in West Malaysia. Continue your jungle exploration to the Canopy Walkway, where you can experience a birds eye view of the rainforest from a height of 45 metres above the forest floor.

Your final day is free to relax or continue your exploration. It’s possible to organise other activities such as rafting along overgrown waterways, or visiting the Orang Asli tribe in their nearby village. Ask your Travel Specialist for more information.
