Accommodation in Malaysia

Whether you want to stay in the heart of Kuala Lumpur’s twinkling metropolis or take it easy in the cool tea hills of the Cameron Highlands, you’ll experience plenty of characterful accommodation throughout your Malaysia holiday. We always opt for locally-owned hotels wherever we can, packed with plenty of Malaysian flavour to compliment your stay in this incredible country.

We rate our accommodation using 4 categories. They’re not official European star ratings as these traditionally refer to the facilities provided, rather than the level of comfort, which we believe is just as important. Here’s a little more about each category.

In Style Accommodation – Category 4

When looking for In Style accommodation, location and comfort are the most important factors as well as giving you something a bit extra in terms of style and quality. A great example of this category is our accommodation during our Daydreaming in Private Paradise trip where you will stay in a villa with veranda and a lovely pool to cool off in.

Standard Accommodation – Category 3

This is the category which most of our accommodation falls into, it offers small-scale charm, favourable locations and a warm and inviting atmosphere as its top attributes. Our standard accommodation is available in pretty much every area we offer, with a few exceptions. A good example of this category is our standard hotel in Kuala Lumpur during our Twin Towers and Chopsticks trip. Located in Bukit Bintang, this hotel offers an authentic atmosphere and comfortable surroundings.

Simple Accommodation – Category 2

This category is used if there isn’t much choice in a particular area you are visiting or if the trip is more about the experience and location than where you stay. The focus is on immersing yourself in the local culture and scenery, rather than the amenities of the lodging.

Basic Accommodation – Category 1

In this category, you’ll be going back to basics! An example of our basic accommodation is the tent stay in the jungle during our Campfires in the Jungle of Endau Rompin trip. Although your lodging is simple, the location in the jungle is unparalleled – there’s nothing quite like falling asleep to the sounds of the jungle.
