Tastes of Tuscany
Bite-sized tripDay 1 – Arrival at your agriturismo
Today you will arrive at your agriturismo, a gem nestled amidst verdant hills adorned with a patchwork of vineyards, olive trees, and timeless Italian villages. Your room is very comfortable with an en-suite bathroom, air conditioning, a beautiful wooden beamed ceiling and charming furniture. There’s nothing planned for the rest of the day, so you can embrace the rhythm of Italian life with a glass of Chianti by the pool as the sun casts its golden hues upon the landscape. There is also a restaurant on the property, so you can eat here in the evenings if you don’t feel like leaving the house.
Days 2-3 – Wine tasting and beyond
After breakfast today you will explore the Tuscan landscape, heading first to Pisa or driving straight to Lucca. This small walled town has streets lined with well-preserved buildings, duomos (cathedrals) and colourful piazzas, inviting you to wander and uncover the secrets that lie within its well-preserved architecture. After a leisurely lunch, you’ll drive to a nearby fattoria – an estate producing wine, olive oil and grappa. Here you’ll taste different wines alongside local dishes that have been expertly paired. The following day, you may opt for a day of lazing about at the agriturismo or you can visit Florence to wander through streets that have borne witness to the footsteps of history.
Day 4 – Leave your agriturismo
This morning your stay in your agriturismo comes to an end, but the fun doesn’t have to stop there – there is so much on your doorstep. You can choose to spend some more time in Florence, or if you want to enjoy rural life then you can travel to Umbria to make pasta, or to San Gimignano where you can take a Vespa tour through the golden Tuscan hills.
