Day 1 – Arrival in Gallipoli

As you drive to Salento, at the tip of Italy’s boot, you’ll notice the landscape becoming flatter and a bit barren. Don’t be fooled; this is where you’ll find some of Italy’s most beautiful beaches. Gallipoli, a charming port town on a peninsula along the Ionian Sea, is where you’ll stay in a cozy hotel right in the city centre. Wander through the picturesque streets of the old town, surrounded by ancient city walls, or cool off in the clear waters at Spiaggia della Purità, the city beach. For a glimpse of local fishermen in action, head to the old harbour where colourful fishing boats set out daily.

Day 2 – Cooking with an Italian Mama

The way to an Italian’s heart is definitely through their stomach, and Italian mamas know this well. Today, you’ll head to the market with your Italian mama to pick out fresh ingredients together. Expect a bit of theatrical haggling—it’s all part of the fun here in Italy. After that, you’ll dive into cooking, chopping vegetables and filleting fish that was caught fresh that morning. Not into fish? No worries, just let us know, and we’ll arrange an alternative menu. Then it’s time to take off the aprons and dig in. Buon appetito!

The rest of the day is yours to explore. Visit the impressive Gallipoli castle, catch the sunset from the city walls, or check out the cathedral.

Day 3 – Departure from Gallipoli

It’s time to say goodbye to Gallipoli. Before you head off, make sure to try the delicious Gallipoli cake at Pasticceria Martinucci. This treat, made from a city-original recipe, is lightly soaked in a limoncello milk syrup and filled with white chocolate mousse infused with saffron. It’s too good to miss!
