You will stay in hotel in a palazzo, a majestic and historic building, now lovingly run by a local family. Your spacious room has its own kitchenette, providing the perfect base for your stay in this captivating city. In the evening, meander through the atmospheric streets and find a spot in a trattoria for a taste of the local cuisine.
Day 2 – Puglia cooking workshop
This afternoon you’ll meet an English-speaking Italian mama, who will share with you a secret recipe from Puglia’s southern Italian cucina. First, you’ll head to the lively market, where the freshest ingredients await you – juicy tomatoes, aromatic garlic, and the finest catch of fish. As you shop, your guide will regale you with stories about Southern Italian cuisine, the art of combining flavours, and the significance of each ingredient. With bags full of the finest produce, you’ll make your way to the kitchen and together you knead the dough, fillet the fish and fill the pasta. After about three hours of culinary creativity, your dish will grace the table, ready to be savoured and enjoyed.
Day 3 – Departure from Lecce
After a satisfying breakfast in the comfort of your own kitchen, where you can showcase the culinary skills you acquired yesterday, it’s time to bid farewell to Lecce and set out on your next adventure. If you’re yearning for a day of Mediterranean relaxation on the beach, head to the Salento peninsula. Alternatively, if you’re eager to continue your cooking apprenticeship and delve deeper into the culinary delights of Puglia, head to Ostuni.
