Days 1-3 – Tumbling rice paddies of Ubud

An hour from Bali’s international airport, Ubud is the perfect spot to recover from a flight and get ready for an adventure. You’ll spend two nights ambling amongst the rice terraces that flow down the hills and into the valleys like rich green waterfalls. Watch daily life unfold in authentic villages, learn about coffee production and soak up the inspiring spirit of the place.

Days 3-4 – Cruising to Komodo: welcome aboard, snorkelling and dragon spotting

Today begins with an early flight to Flores, where you’ll be met by your tour leader and welcomed aboard your floating home. Settle in, meet the crew and the other fellow travellers, enjoy a drink on the deck and dive straight into your adventure.

The next couple of days are all about exploring the underwater world around Komodo islands. Spot sea turtles as they gather to feed and watch manta rays sway around their “cleaning stations”. You’ll also come ashore to search for the legendary Komodo dragons, the real kings of this archipelago.

Days 5-6 – Cruising to Komodo: pink beach & crater lake

Wake up off the coast of an uninhabited island. With pristine pink-hued beach it’s a perfect spot for some snorkelling and paddle boarding (or just lazing around on the warm sand). After your lunch on the boat, you’ll visit one of the local villages on Sumbawa, where you’ll learn about boat-making techniques and see a phinisi boat, similar to the one you’re sailing, being built right on the shore.

Next day brings another adventure. This time you’ll visit a beautiful island with a sunken crater lake in the heart of it. You will enjoy a hike around the rim and be rewarded with breath-taking views of the island, or swim, kayak and paddle board on the lake. In the evening you’ll witness hundreds of fruit bats fly from the island to feed.

Days 7-8 – Cruising to Komodo: whale sharks & village visit

The next couple of days, on top of your usual sea-based activities and incredible snorkelling opportunities, you’ll be treated to something pretty special. If you’re in luck, you’ll get to witness whale sharks breaching the surface of the sea, and, after a briefing, join them in the water. There’s nothing like being close to these amazing sea inhabitants!

You will also have an opportunity to visit a village on Moyo island, meet local people and learn about their daily life.

Days 9-10 – Cruising to Komodo: underwater world & Rinca island

As you sail back towards Komodo islands, you’ll be treated to more amazing coral reefs (and more marine life to marvel at), some of the best in the whole of Komodo National Park. You’ll also make a stop on Rinca island, where you’ll set off wildlife spotting with the ranger. Komodo dragons aside, Rinca is a home to many different species of fauna, including monkeys, deer and wild buffalo. Afterwards together with your guide, you’ll hike to one of the viewing points to top your experience with magnificent vistas of the rugged shores and deep blue sea.

Day 11 – Cruising to Komodo: tribal Flores & back to Bali

This morning after breakfast you’ll leave your floating home in Labuhan Bajo and head inland for a farewell treat. After a short ride to one of the local villages, you’ll witness an impressive whip dance performance and a very skilful bamboo pole jumping game. If you’re brave enough, have a taste of the fiery local arak. After you say goodbyes to the crew and your fellow travellers, you’ll hop on a flight back to Bali and get whisked away to a sleepy village of Sanur, where you can relax and get used to living ashore.

Days 12-13 – Beaches of Southern Bali & departure

Snooze on the sand, stroll on the beach, indulge in a spa treatment (or two) and soak up the tropical sunshine in Sanur, a southern beach with a village feel and a deliciously drowsy vibe. A 5km walk stretches along the coastline and the waves are gentle ripples, protected by a coral reef offshore. Stretch out by the pool, take a leisurely walk along the beach and grab a cocktail at sunset. Simple.

On the final day of your adventure you’ll be transferred to the airport in time for your international flight back home.
