If a stunning interior means as much to you as the great outdoors, then sleek Scandi hotels we've hand-picked for this itinerary will keep you excited. Blending into the nature and complimenting the cityscapes, accommodation here is a big part of the experience. From welcoming Reykjavik to the gashing geysers of the Golden Circle, to the hot springs of the Blue Lagoon and the Northern lights over the jaw-dropping Kerlingafjoll highlands, nothing can beat Iceland's dramatic scenery. Especially when travelling in style!

Days 1-2 – Welcome to Reykjavik!

Reykjavik is a compact and hip city that is home to 65% of the Icelandic population. The modern architecture, shops, young people and trendy restaurants give the city a quirky Nordic touch. Your sleek boutique hotel is located right in the centre, making it easy to explore.

You’ll have the next day free for you to head out and explore the city. Zigzag through streets full of brightly coloured houses to Hallgrimskirkja, Reykjavik’s famous church that rises 75 meters above the surrounding houses. Take the elevator to the viewpoint at the top of the tower and grab yourself a photo with the whole city as your background. As the night roles in, you’ll jump in a super-jeep (a massive truck with huge wheels) and together with your guide and a small group head out of the city to seek out the awesome auroras of the majestic Northern Lights. The winter nights are long enough to make this special event possible and we highly recommend witnessing it away from the light pollution. Your guide will take you to the best location to spot this natural wonder. Don’t forget to wrap up in warm clothes and have your cameras at the ready.

Day 3- Spouting Geysers & Crashing Falls

Today you’ll head off on your drive to the Golden Circle. We recommend a stop at Thingvellir en route, where you’ll find a gap between the European and American continental plates in a national park that’s well worth checking out. From Thingvellir you’ll then continue your journey to find Iceland’s highest spouting geysir, Strokkur. Be sure to have your camera ready, as you can take spectacular pictures here. In the evening, check into your sleek Icelandic-style hotel and after an exciting day seeing the sights, take the time to relax in the Secret Lagoon. Between the different baths you walk through a world of moss and steam and although the lagoon is no longer very secret, it still gives you a magical feeling.

Days 4-6 – Kerlingafjoll: to the heart of Iceland

Get to the burning heart of Iceland during this short stay up in the highlands. Glistening mountains and bubbling hot springs are just the right backdrop for your stylish yet cozy accommodation. With minimalistic design and warm colours your home for the next few days is an epitome of the Icelandic style. Nestled at the base of the snow-covered mountains it’s a great escape into the great outdoors – winter or summer, the everchanging landscape is nothing short of stunning. If travelling in winter your adventure begins with an unusual transfer by a super-jeep (you’ll leave your car parked in Skjol) and we’ll arrange a guided hike for you to enjoy the views. There are plenty of hiking trails around the hotel grounds if you feel like a true explorer and manage to drag yourself out of the hot baths (we couldn’t).

Days 7-8 – Secrets of the Blue Lagoon & departure

Drive over the Reykjanes peninsula towards Keflavík to end your trip completely zen (and in style!) at the Blue Lagoon. On the way you will see lava fields and hot springs with large plumes of smoke in the background. The lagoons are artificially constructed but heated by natural sources. Tonight you will stay in a stunning hotel right next to the Blue Lagoon. Simple and elegant design won’t distract you from the incredible views from your very own terrace, whether it’s overlooking the small Silica lagoon or the lava fields covered in green moss. The Blue Lagoon is only a short stroll making it easy to come back to the comfort of your hotel after your relaxing dip in the baths. The next day you’ll return your rental car at airport and fly home with a head full of special memories.
