RegionCrete is the largest island in Greece, nestle in the southernmost reaches. While it is mostly known as a beach destination, Crete is a treasure trove of diverse experiences waiting to be explored. Walk through the majestic Imbros or Samaria gorge and visit small fishing villages, like the charming Mochlos. Rent a car and explore the island at your own pace. There are certainly enough tavernas along the way offering delectable feasts of fresh squid and tantalizing traditional delicacies.
