Bite-sized tripDay 1 – To Zakynthos
Today, set your sights on the captivating island of Zakynthos, easily accessible through its international airport or by ferry from Lefkas, Kefalonia, and mainland Greecey. Zakynthos, although relatively small in size, boasts an abundance of natural wonders and is known for its crystal-clear water, white cliffs and rugged mountains. Drive along winding roads that meander through the unspoilt interior to your charming studio located on the east side of the island. You’ll find yourself nestled on a tranquil and inviting sandy beach. Take a refreshing dip in the sea or seek solace at one of the beachside taverns, where you can savor a refreshing drink while immersing yourself in the soothing ambiance. If you’re full of energy, venture into the villages with their distinctive orange roofs and marvel at the sprawling olive groves, which are home to two million olive trees.
Days 2-3 – The shipwreck and the blue caves & free time
Today, an exciting adventure awaits as you set your course for Smuggler’s Bay. This legendary destination is home to the renowned Navagio Bay, where a shipwreck has become an iconic symbol. In 1980, a ship carrying a cargo of cigarettes and booze met its fate on these shores, earning the nickname Smuggler’s Bay. Departing from the harbour, you’ll embark on a journey across the shimmering blue waters, arriving at the bay where history and nature intertwine, before continuing to the ever-changing shades of the water in the Blue Caves. The next day, you’ll have ample time to explore Zakynthos at your own pace. Journey back to the shipwreck to witness its magnificence from above. Alternatively, head to Cameo Island, with golden-sand beaches and crystal-clear waters. For an unforgettable finale, make your way to the lighthouse in Keri. From this perfect vantage point, watch as the sun gracefully disappears into the bay, painting the sky with hues of gold and pink.
Day 4 – Time to leave Zakynthos
Today you say goodbye to Zakynthos and decide the best way to continue your journey. Lefkas and Kefalonia are also located on the west coast of Greece or The Peloponnese, the peninsula of Greece, has long sandy beaches, monasteries carved in rocks and stone tower houses.
