Day 1 – Chania: Greece with a Venetian flair

Today you’ll arrive into the enchanting city of Chania, where a sense of magic fills the air. From the moment you arrive, you’ll be greeted by a special ambiance that reflects the diverse influences of the Venetian, Ottoman, and Egyptian eras. Everywhere you turn, you’ll find brightly coloured mansions, elegant Turkish minarets, and a picturesque harbour that beckons you to explore. Within the old city walls you’ll be transported to a bygone era as you walk under arches through a maze of cosy narrow streets and alleys that lead to the captivating Giali Tzamisi Mosque. Check into your hotel, where you’ll be welcomed by a warm and hospitable family who are very familiar with these enchanting streets. Don’t hesitate to seek their guidance and insider tips, as they are more than happy to share their wealth of knowledge to enhance your stay.

Days 2-3 – Explore Chania’s highlights

Prepare to lose yourself in the labyrinthine charm of Chania’s winding streets, as you stroll into the old town filled with colourful shops selling locally crafted goods. After a walk through the colourful market hall, grab yourself a frappé (Greek iced coffee) in one of the cafes on the boulevard and enjoy the view of the city’s iconic Egyptian lighthouse at the harbour. If you’d like to explore the area beyond the city walls, venture into the picturesque landscapes of Kolymbari, where endless olive groves and lemon plantations blanket the rolling hills. The olive oil that comes from here is known throughout Europe and we’d recommend tasting it if you have a chance.

Day 4 – Departure from Chania

As your journey nears its end, savour one last delightful breakfast before bidding farewell to the charming city of Chania. If you’re thirsty for more adventure, why not drive to Chora Sfakion, where a thrilling hiking experience awaits you in the Imbros Gorge.
