Turquoise Bays of Lefkada
Bite-sized tripDay 1 – Arrival on Lefkada
Lefkada is located in the northwest of Greece and is part of the Ionian Islands. The island is connected to the mainland via a 25 kilometre long bridge, so you can easily get there by hirecar. Pass swampy marshlands home to pelicans and spoonbills, before arriving into Lefkada town, the capital of the island.
Follow the rugged coastline, where the beaches are considered among the most beautiful in Europe, to your apartment in a small village, away from the crowds. In the evening, stroll through the cosy streets and dine at one of the tavernas in the harbour, serving up the catch of the day.
Day 2 – Boating at Nidri
The village of Nidri is a touristy town, located in a picturesque bay. Along the boulevard you will find taverns and restaurants overlooking the harbour and sailboats coming and going. Today you will have the chance to become captain yourself! Pick up your motorboat, pack your picnic and head out on the water towards the islands of Madouri and Skorpios. You will discover paradise bays that you can only reach by boat, go snorkelling to spot colourful fishes and sit back and relax onboard.
Day 3 – Exploring Lefkada
Today is yours to explore as you wish, you could take a road trip along Lefkada’s south coast, where stalls selling honey, olive oil, and wine line the road. Stop at the secluded Egremni beach, marvel at the breathtaking Love Cliffs at Porto Katsiki and visit the Doukato lighthouse perched on a 60-metre-high cliff! If you prefer to explore inland, Lefkada’s mountainous landscape won’t disappoint. Past through remote villages and olive tree-dotted scenery to get a glimpse into daily life against the backdrop of the Greek countryside.
