Secluded Bays of the Cyclades
ItineraryDay 1 – Start of your Greek holiday
Today you will take a flight from the UK to Athens, the capital of Greece. Your driver will be waiting for you in the arrivals hall for a relaxed start to your trip in this capital city, which is home to around four million people. You’ll stay in a modern hotel in the city centre with a swimming pool on the roof terrace with a view of the Acropolis. This is a great spot for a cooling dip after a day of sightseeing! There is a metro station close to your hotel, allowing easy access to the main attractions. We loved the Plaka neighborhood as its a place where Greeks and tourists gather in the evening – this is a good spot for a family dinner as there are plenty of great restaurants.
Day 2 – Explore Athens
Today you will head out with your English-speaking local guide. Together you’ll explore the city highlights, along with some more hidden spots that you would not easily find yourself. You can also view the archaeological finds in the metro stations which were discovered during the construction of the underground network. After your tour you can visit the Acropolis and explore the rest of the city – stroll past souvenir shops, stop at kafenions (typical Greek cafes) and visit tavernas playing Greek sirtaki music that carries on the warm evening air.
Day 3 – Travel to Andros
Andros is the northernmost island of the Cyclades and just a 2 hour ferry from Athens. It is one of the greenest islands in Greece and is a great place for some hiking and outdoor activities. Upon arrival on the island a transfer will be waiting for you to take you to Chora where we will arrange a studio apartment for you with a swimming pool. You will find nice beaches in and around Chora, such as Nimborio and Paraporti, which you can walk to, plsu plenty of spots for a tasty Greek meal.
Day 4 & 5 – River trekking & free time
Day 6 – Travel to Tinos
Today take the ferry to the island of Tinos, where you’ll head to the capital of the same name. The quay forms around the old fishing port, where you can have lunch in one of the tavernas. In the tourist shops you will see many religious souvenirs as the church of Tinos is a popular pilgrimage site. On arrival onto the island you can take a taxi to your comfortable family hotel on the outskirts of Tinos town. The hotel has a swimming pool and is within walking distance of a pretty sandy beach – perfect for sand castles!
Days 7 & 8 – Exploring Tinos & ferry to Mykonos
Day 9 – Time to head home
On your last day, savour one more delicious breakfast, before taking a ferry back to Athens for your international flight home. If you have an early morning flight, we’ll arrange an overnight stay nearby for your convenience.
