Rolling through Tobacco Hills
Bite-sized tripDay 1 – Arrival in Vinales
Stretched along the valley floor between forest-topped hills, Viñales is home to 4,000 friendly locals, one main street and one state-owned restaurant. You’ll stay in a casa particular on the outskirts of town. You’ll have your own room with air conditioning and your own key so that you can come and go as you please.
Days 2-3 – Vinales horse riding trip/tobacco hike & departure
On Day 2, you’ll saddle up for a scenic horse ride through the rolling hills with a local guide. The Cuban horses are very relaxed, so you’ll find them easy enough to ride. As you mosey along, you’ll find yourself flanked by towering jungle-topped hills and surrounded by red-earth field.
If you’re not confident with horses, you can opt to hike the route instead. Around lunchtime, you’ll return to Viñales and the rest of your time in the village is your own. Rent some bikes, head for some panoramic viewpoints, take a boat trip on the underground river at Cueva del India or sit in the shade of the church plaza with an ice-cream. The next day you’ll journey onwards to your next adventure.

Cayo Jutias day trip
Feel like you deserve a beach day? We can arrange a visit to one of Cuba’s less discovered gems. There are no hotels here so it has retained an untouched feel, but you’ll find white sands and crystal clear waters which rival any of the big resorts. There are a couple of small bars, as well as kayak rental and snorkeling trips…or you could just wander amongst the mangroves and find a quiet spot to relax. Lunch is included, and you’ll need an extra night in Vinales too.
