Casa by the Coast

Bite-sized trip
  • Itinerary:
    La Boca, near Trinidad
  • Duration:
    3 days / 2 nights (flexible)
  • Price:
from £ 85.- per person (excluding flights)
Tucked away at the mouth of the Guaurabo River, just a few miles from Trinidad, you’ll find the tiny seaside village of La Boca. Boasting little more than a small beach and a handful of shops and bars, life here is unhurried, unfussy and totally relaxing. You’ll stay in a locally run casa particular just a stone’s throw from the Caribbean Sea, where you can watch Cuban coastal life slowly unfold before you.

Day 1 – Arrival in la Boca

After you’ve checked into your casa, you’ll be able to explore the village and get your bearings….but the village is tiny so it shouldn’t take very long. Your casa owner will do their best to make you feel right at home, and point out the local amenities if you don’t spot them yourself. As the evening draws in you can sit back, have a beer, and wait for that Cuban sunset.

Days 2-3 – Free time & departure

Your time here is yours to do as you wish, and if that involves breathing in the sea air whilst doing absolutely nothing then we won’t judge!  If you are feeling active then the more famous beach of Playa Ancon is nearby, and here you’ll find a wider range of restaurants as well as snorkelling trips running most of the year. It’s only a 15 minute taxi ride away, or you could hire a bike and explore the coast if you fancy a bit of exercise.  In the evening you can look out to sea whilst tucking into some fresh lobster, ready to continue your journey the next morning.
