Caribbean Beaches of the East
Bite-sized tripDay 1 – Arrival in Playa Pesquero
When you arrive in Playa Pesquero, near to the city of Holguin, you’ll check into your relaxed and welcoming all-inclusive resort. This may not be authentically Cuban accommodation, but it’s clean, comfortable and just a stone’s throw from the sea. There are only a handful of resorts sprinkled along this section of the coast, making it a beach paradise with plenty of personal space. It’s a place for long, lazy breakfasts, afternoon cocktails and barefoot strolls along the beach.
Days 2-3 – And relax…
We haven’t pre-planned anything during your stay here, so if you ‘d like to spend your time doing precisely nothing then nobody is going to stop you! The hotel offers a few different restaurants and bars, as well as swimming pools, a jacuzzi and spa. For something a little more active you can take advantage of their watersports equipment, or perhaps have a game of tennis. There’s plenty of options to stop anyone getting bored!
If you’d like to explore more of the area then the nearby town of Gibara makes an interesting day trip, either with your hire car or by taxi, and the El Chorro de Maita archaeological site is also worth a visit. If the underwater world is more your thing, then you can book a boat trip through the hotel to take you to some of the best snorkelling spots along the coast.
Day 4 – Departure from Playa Pesquero
After a final evening sipping mojitos by the beach, it’s time to pack up your bags and continue your journey through Cuba.
