Snorkelling Coves & Tropical Rainforests

Bite-sized trip
  • Itinerary:
    Corcovado National Park
  • Duration:
    4 days / 3 nights
  • Price:
from £ 835.- per person (excluding flights)
The isolation of the Corcovado rainforest makes it one of the most special places in the country. You'll take a speedboat through narrow winding channels to Drake Bay, the coastal strip just before the park where your jungle lodge is based. You'll go on a guided walk in Corcovado National Park and snorkel on one of the best reefs in the country just off the tropical island, Isla del Caño.
Costa Rica Corcovado national park boat tour

Day 1 – Arrival in Corcovado

You’ll travel to Corcovado via Sierpe where you’ll be picked up and soon be surrounded by banana and palm oil plantations at the port. Troops of howler monkeys live along the shores between the mangrove roots, and the white ibis forage for food among them. On arrival at Drake Bay, you’ll find your small secluded hotel hidden in the jungle right by the beach. With private bungalows scattered around, a swimming pool to relax by and miles of pristine beaches right on your doorstep, this place was made for total relaxation.

Please note: there are no jetties in or around Drake bay, so you’ll need to jump off the boat into the water and walk to the beach

Day 2 – Corcovado National Park

After an early breakfast you’ll head along the coast to Corcovado National Park where you’ll meet your guide and walk along the marked trail through the forest. The rainforest is teeming with animals, birds and insects. Scattered among the fruit laden trees, the brightly coloured toucans and large blue butterflies are easy to spot.

Days 3-4 – Isla de Caño & departure

Today you’ll go on a day trip to the waters surrounding Isla de Caño, a great place to go snorkelling. The waters are teeming with a wonderful variety of marine life to spot below the surface. The following day you’ll travel by van and speedboat back to Palmar Norte/Sierpe.
