Bite-sized tripDay 1 – Arrival in Manuel Antonio
As you approach your hotel up a winding road you’ll spot the glistening blue ocean below. You’ll stay at a hill-top villa resort with a pool and ocean views. Settle in, relax in your hammock or head out for sunset cocktails at one of the many bars dotted along the road. There are plenty of choices when it comes to eating and drinking here – most with ocean vistas!
Days 2-3 – Guided walk through the National Park & departure
Today you’ll make your way to the park gates, where you’ll meet you eagle-eyed guide, and begin your walk. Manuel Antonio National Park is fairly small and easy to explore on foot. Within a couple of hours you’ll be able to spot plenty of wildlife inhabiting the rainforest, and learn about different species and their habitat. You might hear howler monkeys communicating, and with the help of your guide, spot smaller and well camouflaged animals too!
The rest of the day is free for you to do as you please. Take a stroll through the National Park or kick back on one of the many sandy beaches. The following day you’ll depart Manuel Antonio for your next destination. The park is closed on Tuesdays so you might like to add an extra day to explore.

Rafting
If it’s the adrenaline rush you are seeking, we can arrange a rafting adventure in Manuel Antonio. You’ll be collected from your hotel an travel by 4×4 along bumpy roads towards the Savegre River. You’ll enjoy a delicious Costa Rican breakfast on the way before your safety briefing and instructions for the tour. Then you’ll head out onto the river and battle the rapids, stopping for a dip in a waterfall and ending with a tasty lunch to help you refuel after tackling the river.
Catamaran tour
If you choose to add this catamaran tour to your trip, you’re in for a unique experience on the water! Alongside a group of fellow travellers, you’ll sail on a catamaran along the stunning Pacific coast near Manuel Antonio. Take in the views of scenic bays and the crystal-clear blue sea. You might even spot a dolphin or two leaping from the water. During the trip, you’ll drop anchor, giving you plenty of time to snorkel and swim. A tasty lunch is included.
