Coral Reefs of Castaway Island

Bite-sized trip
  • Itinerary:
Managua - Great Corn Island - Managua
  • Duration:
    4 days / 3 nights (flexible)
  • Price:
From £ 840.- per person (excluding flights)
The tiny, tropical Corn Islands may not be as well known as other Caribbean islands, but that’s part of their appeal. If you’re looking for azure waters lapping against white sand, then you have come to the right place. Indulge yourself in the cosy bars by sipping on a tropical cocktail whilst taking in the beautiful views. During your stay, you’ll explore the underwater world on a snorkelling trip then sit back and relax in your cosy beach cabana.

Day 1 – Arrival on Great Corn Island

To get to the Corn Islands you’ll need to catch a domestic flight from Managua, which we’ve included in the price of this trip. On arrival at the small airport on the Corn Islands, you’ll collect your luggage and leave the airport. Outside are a lot of taxi drivers ready to take you to your hotel. All taxi fares here are around two dollars. You’ll stay in one of the colourful timber bungalows right by the beach.

Day 2 – Snorkelling trip

Today you’ll explore the underwater world surrounding the Corn Islands. As you submerge yourself in the deep blue waters of the warm Caribbean Sea, you’ll find a fascinating underwater world. Just below the surface you’ll be met by beautiful coral reefs. Here you can spot sharks, barracudas, stingrays and parrotfish, but the waters are also inhabited by sea turtles and dolphins. Maybe today will be your lucky day!

Day 3 – Free time

Today is completely free to do as you please. Why not start the day with a lie-in and relaxed breakfast? When you’re ready you can grab your swimming costume and head to the beach. Your hotel is in fact right on the beach and at the bar you’ll find cool drinks and reggae music. Spend the evening in one of the cosy local restaurants where freshly caught fish is served.

Day 4 – Departure

Sadly, today is the last day of your stay on the Corn Islands, but the likelihood is that you’ll feel as though you haven’t had long enough here. If so, we can extend your stay on the island with an extra night or two, just let us know. You’ll make your own way back to the airport where we’ll arrange your flight back to Managua.
