Bite-sized trip
  • Itinerary:
    Samara
  • Duration:
    4 days / 3 nights (flexible)
  • Price:
From £ 335.- per adult (excluding flights)
  • From £ 250,- per child (up to 11 years)
Relax and play around on the quiet beaches of Costa Rica’s Pacific coast. You’ll stay in the little beach town of Samara, where life moves at a snail’s pace and you can spend a few days reading your book whilst the kids splash around in the sea. The waves here are perfect for learning to surf too, and we’ll arrange a lesson to get you all started!

Day 1 – Arrival in Samara

Situated on the Nicoya Peninsula, full of lush forest and rugged coastline, Samara beach is a little slice of paradise. It’s a nice drive to get here, with plenty to see on the way and some nice little towns you can stop in for lunch if you’re self-driving. Your hotel is locally owned, small-scale and has a little swimming pool where you can cool off after the journey. Once you’re settled in you can take a short stroll down to the beach, and there’s some nice little restaurants in town where you can grab a seafood dinner.

Days 2-3 – Surfing & relaxing

Let’s not beat around the bush – the whole point of adding a little beach time into your holiday is to not do very much, and that’s exactly what you can choose to do! After breakfast you can pop down to the quiet beach, and the kids can mess around in the sand and dip their toes in the Pacific. The town itself has everything you need; places to eat and drink, and a little supermarket too.

Whilst you’re here we’ll arrange a surfing lesson with a local expert, so the kids (and maybe you too?) can learn the basics. You can even rent boards afterwards, and the surf is ideal for beginners. If you (or probably more likely the kids…) get restless then nearby you can arrange dolphin spotting, snorkelling trips, rent a quad bike or even go ziplining. In the evenings you can sit by the sea with a drink or two – total relaxation!

Day 4 – Continue your journey

You can choose to add another day or two here if you like, just let us know, but otherwise it’s time to say goodbye to peaceful Samara and carry on your journey through Costa Rica.
