Explore the Caribbean Coast – Cahuita

Bite-sized trip
  • Itinerary:
    Cahuita
  • Duration:
    4 days / 3 nights (flexible)
  • Price:
From £ 340.- per adult (excluding flights)
  • From £ 255,- per child (up to 11 years)
Find the Caribbean atmosphere in Costa Rica. Stroll along the long, rugged beach that borders the tropical rainforest and grab a fruit shake at a Bob Marley beach bar. Spend the days relaxing whilst the children play on the beach, explore the quiet coastal town and fill your belly's in the local restaurants. On your second day, you and your family will venture into the national park where the rainforest flows right into the ocean. With a local guide, you'll embark on a nature walk. Search with your kids for capuchin monkeys and colourful birds whilst counting how many crabs you can spot on the white sands.

Day 1 – Arrive in Cahuita

Today you’ll travel to Cahuita, a village south of the Caribbean coast. You’ll stay in a comfortable hotel immersed in nature located right in front of the beach. After checking into your hotel, enjoy a fresh splash in the swimming pool or take a wander around the town – it won’t be long until you find a restaurant to suit all the family. The town offers some of the best Caribbean food around, along with delicious Italian and even French food to enjoy.

Day 2 – Explore Cahuita National Park

Today you’ll travel to Cahuita National Park, the perfect place for a day out with your family. You’ll be met by a local guide and head on a nature walk, following the trail you’ll learn all about the different tropical trees and animals you see. From capuchin monkeys swinging in the trees to brightly coloured frogs resting on the leaves and sloths sleeping above your heads. As the younger kids see who can spot the monkey first, the older ones can grab a snorkel and dive into the ocean looking for beautiful coloured fish amongst the reef.

Days 3-4 – Free time to relax & departure

Today you have a full day to enjoy the tropical reggae atmosphere and do nothing but relax. Build sandcastles on the beach, grab a hammock and a good book or treat yourself to a refreshing fruity cocktail. If you prefer the beach at the national park yesterday, you can head back for another day here. Or take a trip to Manzanillo park, established for its idyllic white beach – walk along the coast and look for red-brown ‘hard-to-find’ frogs amongst multicoloured toucans. Whatever your plans for today – you’ll find life is pretty easy here. On day four you’ll wave goodbye to the Caribbean vibes and head off on the next leg of your family journey.
