Eternal Spring in Medellin

Bite-sized trip
  • Itinerary:
    Medellin
  • Duration:
    3 days / 2 nights (flexible)
  • Price:
from £ 185.- per person (excluding flights)
With a seemingly ever-pleasant climate and a stunning location surrounded by steep hills and jagged peaks, Medellín is quickly shaking off its infamous past to become one of Colombia’s must-visit cities. You’ll find a character and fast-paced attitude which sets the city apart from the rest of the nation, and it can be a lot of fun to be a part of for a few days! You’ll spend 2 nights in the El Poblado district and take a tour with a local paisa guide who’ll show you the ins and outs of their city.

Day 1 – Welcome to Medellín

Whether you’re travelling by air or overland, the final part of the journey as you approach the steep valley where the city sits is always impressive. Medellín is a busy mix of Colombian spirit and international influences, and whilst still rough and ready in parts, the city has really begun to thrive since the dark days of Pablo Escobar. On arrival, we’ll arrange for you to be taken to your comfy hotel in the El Poblado district of the city. Once you’ve settled in, you can explore your neighbourhood which is one of the more upmarket areas of Medellín, with plenty of restaurants and bars to take in.

Day 2 – Exploring the city

After breakfast, your local guide will come to meet you at your hotel, ready to show you some of the highlights of their city. You’ll travel like a true paisa (Medellín resident), being shown the most famous spots, like Plaza Botero, and also some of the lesser-known districts and secret highlights. Then you’ll jump on the cable car which connects downtown Medellín with the poorer neighbourhoods high up in the hills above. These cable cars had a major role in uniting the city and improving conditions and give a fascinating view of the hotchpotch of buildings and streets below, as well as a full view of the city’s spectacular valley setting. The rest of the day is free to explore, relax or perhaps head out to experience Medellín’s famous party scene!

Day 3 – Continue your journey

We can book a little longer for you in the city if you like of course, but otherwise it’ll be time to head onto the next stop on your Colombian journey.
