Day 1 – Arrival in Wumu

You’ll depart from Lijiang and leave the hustle and bustle of the city behind in favour of towering mountains and quaint rural villages. Your transfer will take about three hours but will take you through some of Yunnan’s most breath-taking scenery past crystal clear lakes and tiny Naxi villages.

As you arrive be prepared to be blown away by the view before you, take some time to soak it all in. The afternoon is yours to enjoy and relax, perhaps take a wander around the village or enjoy a local beer on the terrace along with some local snacks. This is also your opportunity to get to know your hosts, the local village leader and family who can tell you all about the area, its history and its people.

Day 2 – Trekking

Today you’ll head out on foot with your local guide to explore the terraced mountains and valleys surrounding Wumu village. You’ll be trekking through breathtaking countryside so make sure your camera batteries are full before you head out on this 5-6 hour trek. Along the way you’ll be bound to meet local villagers about their daily lives. There is an option during your trek to pay locally for a boat trip on the Yangtze River, just let your hosts or guide know on the day.

Day 3 – Village – departure

Today you’ll head back to the city, after a hearty breakfast you’ll wave goodbye to new found friends and continue your journey through China. If you have the time to extend your trip we recommend having an extra night here to really relax or you could choose to head further into the mountains to China’s Shangri-la – the town of Zhongdian.
