Day 1 – Lijiang – Dali

Today you’ll take the bus from Lijiang to Dali, travelling past wooden villages and hills backed by the snowy tips of the Himalayas. When you arrive, you’ll be transferred into the heart of Old Dali, where you’ll stay in a Tibetan-style hotel packed with warmth and character. The rest of the day is free for you to explore, an ancient walled town bursting with old world charm.

Day 2 – Dali – cookery course

This morning, you’ll hit the kitchen. First, you’ll take a trip to the local market with your guide, picking up ingredients and learning about local specialities. Next, you’ll tie on an apron to whip up three classic Chinese dishes, from tofu salads to Gong Bao chicken. After slaving over you hot wok, you’ll sit down lunch and enjoy the fruit of your own labours.

Day 3 – Dali – Kunming

Today, you’ll drag yourself away from the irrestitable vibe of Dali. It’s a place that many travellers book for two days and leave after two months. After saying goodbye to the friendly hosts at your hotel, you’ll hit the road again and continue your China adventure.
